Producer / Program Manager, Games

Remote - US

Theia Studios is a new game studio building competitive strategy games and player-generated content ecosystems using the blockchain. Our first game, Icons of Theia, is a competitive tactical turn-based strategy game. We are a small, fully remote, venture-backed team of tech, esports, and game industry veterans. We believe a diverse team with varied perspectives helps us make better games for a global audience and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

We are looking for a self-starting Producer or Program Manager to join our team. If you're energized by tackling challenges in pursuit of high-quality creative outcomes, working in a tight-knit collaborative environment, and are excited about shaping new experiences and a new company from the ground up - we’d love to talk to you!

Responsibilities
  • Work with a small but scrappy team to develop and scale games in the blockchain space
  • Work across disciplines to track technical and creative initiatives, interpret requirements, and build plans that you will partner with engineering, art, and game design to deliver
  • Manage collaboration with and direction of external development partners for art and engineering, in conjunction with studio art and technical leadership
  • Ensure teams understand product and project goals, and the overall production plan and product roadmap; manage delivery through all phases of development
  • Own clean and quantitative reporting providing visibility into work, priorities, and delivery or highlighting areas of risk.
  • Continuously drive market learnings and product feedback into product strategy and development, identifying risks and opportunities and driving plan adaptation and change management
  • Tackle new challenges that arise during development
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience as a program manager, producer, or similar role in technology or games
  • Proven ability to interact with both engineering and creative teams (art, game design, product design, etc.) and support teams across an organization
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Able to mitigate risks and deftly adapt plans as appropriate throughout the development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in games or game-adjacent products or technologies
  • Experience using project management software (Jira, ADO, GitHub, Hansoft, Asana, etc.)
  • Understands aspects of software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Kanban or Scrum).
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience across all aspects of a game development cycle - from concept to release
  • Experience managing development efforts spanning internal and external engineering or creative teams
  • Experience with modern game engine technologies (Unity, Unreal Engine, Cocos2d)
  • Experience with live service games / games-as-a-service and/or mobile games
  • Entrepreneurial experience or interest
  • Passionate about unlocking player value and new experiences with emerging technologies like blockchain

Principal Software Engineer, Games

Remote - US

If you're energized by tackling technical challenges in pursuit of high quality creative outcomes, working in a tight-knit collaborative environment, and are excited about shaping new experiences and a new company from the ground up - we’d love to talk to you!

Responsibilities
  • Work with a small but scrappy team to develop and scale games in the blockchain space
  • Build technology and tools that can be leveraged across multiple projects
  • Serve as a leadership voice in the company, leveraging experience to guide everything from product direction to hiring to development process and best practices
  • Mentor junior developers on best practices
  • Be flexible and willing to learn new technologies
  • Optimize and fine-tune code for performance
  • Maintain existing codebases.
  • Tackle new challenges that arise during development
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience developing games in a professional environment
  • Key contributor to at least one mobile/console/PC game in the market
  • Outstanding collaborator and communicator
  • Experience with modern game engine technologies (Unity, Unreal Engine, Cocos2d)
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one programming language (C#, C/C++, Objective-C, Java)
  • Excellent programming skills with a solid understanding of software engineering techniques, methodologies, and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies as needed
  • Positive and willing to tackle new challenges that arise during development
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative working environment within your team and beyond
  • Shipped at least one game and have a proven track record
  • Development experience with version control software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience across all aspects of a game development cycle - from concept to release
  • Mobile development experience (iOS and Android)
